If you are thinking about supporting your local Conservatives or simply want to get involved, we’d love you to join.
The word conservative is invoked to refer to several surprisingly diverse worldviews. But by and large, conservatives agree on the basics.
Government that does the least does the best. Control in the hands of a few is bad and collectivism is a disaster. Control in an abstract, distant form and should be more limited. Control in the hands of the unelected is bad and should be the exception, not the norm. Free markets coupled with free people will benefit us all better than an interfering government picking winners and losers.
Personally, I am a conservative because I am in favour of free markets and low taxes. I want the Government to give people a hand up and not a handout.
I also believe we should be looking for solutions in education, healthcare and economic development so that we can have the growth we need to prosper and invest in the future.
If you share our values and feel you are a conservative, then why not support us.
We’re a lively, diverse and active group, with members of all ages and backgrounds in and around Putney, Roehampton and Southfields.
It is great for people to be able to socialise and chat with likeminded individuals.
We hold a regular programme of events, from political discussions to drinks receptions to quiz evenings.
Volunteers play a key part in our campaigning. That can be as much or as little as a person wants to do. Helping to drop leaflets in residents’ letterboxes, or canvassing residents on the phone or doorstep to find out what’s on their minds.
Some people are involved all year round, others choose to campaign at election time.
We are very grateful to anyone who chooses to give their time to support us in helping get Conservatives elected and we will make you very welcome!
Don't worry if you haven't got involved with a political party before, campaigning is great fun.
Many members don’t want to get actively involved there subscription is enough and we are happy just to have your support.
