Cllr Dr Daniel Ghossain

Daniel lives in West Hill with his Irish wife Mairead and their young son Gabriel. He grew up in social housing and later bought his home through the council’s Right to Buy scheme, making him a strong supporter of aspiration and social mobility. As a leaseholder, he understands concerns around housing and the need for value for money in local services. Professionally, Daniel is a consultant clinical psychologist with extensive experience in mental health and acquired brain injury, supporting some of the most vulnerable people in society. Elected as a councillor for West Hill in 2022, he has campaigned on behalf of residents against insensitive redevelopment plans and worked closely on wider housing issues, opposed the AELTC’s expansion, and run successful road safety campaigns, including securing two new zebra crossings.

Charlie Drakesmith

Charlie has lived in Wandsworth his whole life. The youngest of three brothers, he attended both nursery and junior school in the local area.

After graduating from Newcastle University in 2022 with an International Relations masters, Charlie has had roles in hospitality and recruitment. He currently works for a political and community consultation firm working on various infrastructure projects, such as sensitively designed family-home schemes in Enfield, Sutton and Buckinghamshire.

Charlie has previously spent time volunteering for Wandsworth Foodbank, where he has prepared and delivering food parcels for the most vulnerable.

In his spare time, Charlie can often be seen in stands at Stamford Bridge watching his beloved Chelsea or at Oval Cricket Ground watching Surrey and England.

A keen local campaigner Charlie is passionate about making our streets safer, helping residents in need and ensuring our council offers efficient, affordable services to the community.

Madeline Woolf

Madeline lives in Wandsworth. Two of her three children, went to schools in the borough. Now a Grandma, her son and his family also live in Wandsworth where her grandchildren go to school and nursery locally. Two generations growing up in Wandsworth.

She is now back to work after 27 years of looking after her children, where it is evident more than ever, of the hardship and disparity for residents throughout Wandsworth. As her daughters have grown up, safety on the streets has become a point of concern especially low level harassment.

The taking away of green spaces, most especially Wimbledon Park where her grandchildren regularly go to play, picnic or meet with friends is worrying. It could affect families and young peoples’ mental health in not having enough open space to meet, relax and unwind. Madeline is passionate about the well being of young people and is evident in her choice of voluntary work with young people in the 18-30 age group.

Affordability is another pressure, especially on older residents like herself. The focus on working to make sure e.g. Council Tax is responsibly spent on beneficial projects/works that would make life better for West Hill residents is paramount.

Madeline is a keen supporter of Surrey & England in cricket, loves playing bridge and swimming. And spending Sunday lunch with family and friends. She is looking forward to meeting and talking with local residents, being part of the plan insupport of a better West Hill to live and work in.
