Harberson Road Petition

Harberson Road is presently a two-way road that is constantly being used as a cut-through to avoid traffic jams relating to the junction of Bedford Hill and Balham High Road. Residents include many families with young children. We are very concerned about our children’s safety, our own safety, air and noise pollution - including from idling cars trying to navigate a two-way street with few passing places. In recent times, a significant amount of damage has been caused to stationary cars by speeding vehicles.

As such, we the undersigned hereby request that Harberson Road is closed off at Bedford Hill in order to provide for a safer, greener and less congested environment for residents. We understand that, for this to happen, a number of parking spaces (between 4 and 6) will need to be removed to enable a turning area.
