Funding secured to improve town centre
Your local Councillors have been busy securing funds from a new levy on property development to deliver real improvements to Putney High Street.
Your local Wandsworth Borough Councillors have been working hard to secure investment that will secure the future of West Putney’s High Street and public spaces. The introduction of tariffbased contributions levied on local property developments is delivering fairer, faster funding for vital infrastructure improvement projects across Putney. You have told us that you would like a better town centre and in response, one way in which the Council intends to utilise this money for the benefit of
all our residents is by investing £3.8 million in improvements to Putney High Street, to help ease traffic congestion and to create a more pedestrian-friendly environment. The full list of possible options is still being explored but the upgrades under consideration include wider pavements, more street planting and an easing of major road junctions, along with tighter speed restrictions. If you have suggestions about improvements you’d like to see get in touch using the details below or the form on the reverse.
Dover House shops boost
We are delighted our bid to the Community Infrastructure Fund has been successful and is set to deliver significant investment to the Dover House Shopping Parade. Proposals to upgrade the area will be published ahead of a wider consultation early in the new year.
