Councillor Robert Morritt has been elected as the new Leader of the Wandsworth Conservative Group at an internal meeting of Conservative councillors last night (Thursday 16th July).
Cllr Morritt takes on the leadership as the Conservative Group begins its work of providing strong leadership and dealing with the challenges facing Wandsworth following four years of a Labour Administration.
Cllr Morritt said:
I'm honoured to have been elected by my fellow Conservative councillors to lead our group.
Our priority is to stand up for Wandsworth residents, provide strong and effective leadership, whilst dealing with the financial challenges facing Wandsworth, and maintaining the services residents rely on.
