Cyclists, pedestrians and drivers will benefit from better roads and pavements throughout Wandsworth after councillors approved plans to invest £3m in footpath and carriageway upgrades in the coming months.
Local authorities committed to protecting their residents from the damaging effects of Heathrow expansion will go to the Court of Appeal today (17th October) to outline vital flaws in the Government’s decision to give the go ahead to a third runway at the West London airport.
The council’s education spokesman Will Sweet has praised the borough’s 32 independent schools for their role in educating thousands of children in Wandsworth and expressed his wish for greater co-operation and collaboration between local state schools and the independent sector.
Council Leader Ravi Govindia has written to European residents based in Wandsworth to reassure them that, despite the uncertainty of Brexit, the council values their contribution to life in the borough and will do all it can to help them stay.
